Michael joins the clergy team at the historic birthplace of Reform Judaism in America for a weekend filled with music, community, and inspiration.
Michael returns to Grand Rapids to share new music as part of a very special residency with an interfaith focus. Joining remotely from Oslo, Michael’s colleague, Alaa Alshaham, will participate in leading a thoughtful discussion on the current state of Jewish-Muslim relations. Together, they will explore how each of us can play a role in building bridges between these two communities—especially during these challenging times.
Michael will join with cantors and Jewish leaders from around the world for a special week of music and learning and the 87th Commemoration of Kristallnacht. The week concludes with a gala concert featuring Michael's new song, "You're Still Here," specifically written for the occasion.

Join us for a very special Shabbat in honor of the 18th Anniversary of the installation of Rabbi Dan Feder. To commemorate the occasion -- we will debut a brand new song, Exodus 15:2 -- one of the Rabbi's favorite texts. Please join us for this sacred occasion.
Thrilled to return to PTS to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Rabbi Feder's installation! In honor of this milestone, we’ll debut a brand-new song commissioned especially for the occasion. Michael will join Rabbi Yonah Kliger for a unique Shabbat service on Friday evening, followed by a Saturday morning learning session. The weekend will conclude with Havdallah services and a special Concert and Conversation —sharing the stories behind the music. Michael and Cantor Kliger will perform some of Michael's most beloved Jewish and secular works, offering an intimate glimpse into the inspiration behind the songs.
This workshop will be part masterclass in songwriting and part deep dive into the liturgy, serving as inspiration for the upcoming song commission. Together, we will embark on the creative journey that will ultimately result in a new song honoring the community's new sanctuary.
Shabbat services with Cantor Paul Buch...we will be introducing some new songs in addition to sharing some favorites. And, we will begin selecting the liturgy for the upcoming song commission.
